3 Days Dry Fasting

In Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, we believe the spirit to be supreme. As human, we move and live in the physical but the spirit of a man is superior. This is how God communicates and interacts with a man. (Read Romans Chapter 8)

To keep this line of communication and interaction open, Our Supreme Holy Father Leader Olumba Olumba Obu admonished that every man must adhere to a strict life of positive energy. He teaches us the value of fasting, which is abstaining from food and drink in order to focus on prayer and seeking God's will. While food, drinks and merriments of the flesh is good for our physical growth, the physical energy interferes with our spiritual self. This is why every week BCS brethren fast for 12hrs and thrice in a year we observe three days (72hrs) fasting. Through this practise, we can testify that God grants supernatural revelation and wisdom. Leader Olumba Olumba Obu teaches us that fasting will help us grow a more intimate relationship with God. When we deprive our flesh of food, water and all actions that leads to physical indulgence, we open ourselves to be lead by God’s spirit. During these fasting periods, we commit ourselves to Hymns, praise songs, confession of sins, prayers and studying of the Everlasting Gospel. It is indeed a beautiful experience, one that we encourage all seekers of the light to embrace.
